LYCOMING 0-290-D (D2 Pistons/0-320 Cam) ~ 346.5 SMOH, 2.5 STOH, SN: 582-21
Bought as a spare engine for my Tri-Pacer then sold the Tri-Pacer...no longer need the engine.
All entries are in one original log:
Major Overhaul (broken valve) at 2,275 hours 7-1-53
New TACH 5-14-55 with 702.3 SMOH (TTE 2,977.3)
Last entry before next Major Overhaul 6-27-56 798.0 SMOH (3,073 TTE)
Log skips to next Major Overhaul 7-28-68 TACH 1,704.0 (3,979 TTE)
Most recent Major Overhaul 5-21-72 TACH 2,048.5 (4,323.5 TTE)
[Modifications: 0-320 Cam, 0-290-D2 Pistons]
Very extensive work in 1974 through a vocational school in Canfield, OH, signed off by W.L. Riley, with no A&P/I.A. indicated. 4-18-74 it was signed off by Instructor James C. Ficocelli A&I, then later Annuals by I.A.
Last entry, Annual 1-2-87 TACH 2394.0, 346.6 SMOH, 2.5 STOH, (*4,669 TTE)
I had the engine inspected by an engine shop that pulled the cylinders. The hone marks are still in the cylinders (pictures below). The A&P/I.A. inspector said wear was consistent with 346.6 hours. All appeared in good condition inside, all moved freely, and no corrosion was found. This engine was oiled inside and kept in a dry hangar.
Crated and ready to ship.
NOTE: *TTE may have been miscalculated on 5-29-73. TTE 4,384.8 may be more accurate. SEE Log.
